Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actor best recognized for her role as House in Fox's Medical drama House. She was raised in Wayne where she was a part of a traditional Jewish tradition. At the age of 18, she emigrated to New York City to study at Tisch School of the Arts. She soon became part of the New York club scene and began getting headlines. Press also noticed her. She then used her background and fame, along with her personal education to write and host a television show titled Positive Me. She landed her first job at MTV as the host of Awake on The Wild Side shortly after. When it ended up going off the air, she began appearing in films and television production, initially in short roles and gradually established herself as an actress.
