Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She's co-founder and director of Thrive Global, as well as the writer of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, a non-profit Liberal news site has a TV personality an author and philanthropist. Born in Greece and moved to England when she was 16. At Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA of Economics. In the beginning, as the only non-English student, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. She was a conservative syndicated writer after graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a couple of years later, she developed an online voice platform which offered criticisms on political scenarios. She was able to get many prominent contributors to share their perspectives on culture as well as political issues. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she ran as an independent in a recall election in California for the seat of then-Governor Davis. She also headed an Detroit automobile project that was fuel efficient. In 2009, she was acclaimed by Forbes as The most influential female media personality, taking the 12th spot on the list. The same year, the Guardian listed her on the top 100 list of media. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she was named president of this media group. This included many AOL properties at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos journalist, and a management consultant. While she enjoyed a strong relation to her parents and father, it was their relationship that shaped her. She showed leadership traits from the beginning. At the age of 16 beginning her education within her native United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she was a member of Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first female and only president from outside the country. She graduated in 1972 with master's degrees in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a critic for a newspaper column and an anchor on a TV show. Additionally, she was a guest along with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing her own books with his editorial assistance.
