Sheryl Underwood, an American television personality and comedian, is most well-known as host on The Talk, a popular talk show on daytime television. Sheryl Underwood was born in Arkansas and has been raised in Little Rock, Atwater and Atwater. Sheryl comes from a family who has suffered from a range of problems. Sheryl spent the majority of her childhood taking care of her sister Frankie as she was a victim of polio. When she was a child, she had an uneasy relationship to her maternal grandmother. Sheryl claims that at some point her mother had stabbed the father of her child due to her proximity to him. Sheryl entered the military following her college graduation. However her interest lay in comedy. She became the first female contestant in the competition Miller Lite Comedy Search held in 1989. Her TV profession began in the year 1992 with her appearance on the HBO comedy show Def Comedy Jam. The show was hosted by her Oh Drama! in 2000. Then in 2011, she started appearing as a co-host on The Talk as co-host. Additionally, she has portrayed the role of a fictional character in shows such as Bulworth, Nikki or Beauty Shop.
